TEMPEREDCAST INVADE WORCESTER PALLADIUM ON NOVEMBER 15

Temperedcast are a new band out of Seattle, Washington who are garnering new fans with their unique brand of melodic vocals and heavy guitar riffs. Their modern day alternative sound has made the Seattle, Washington band very popular on the West Coast, as the rockers have shared the stage with Drowning Pool, Three Days Grace and Jerry Cantrell.

Temperedcast recently released their sophomore album Reach produced by Brent DeRocher and the band at the Brewery Studios in Seattle. The album is laden with emotional lyrics, razor sharp guitar riffs, and catchy melodies. Although the grunge scene has long left the area, Temperedcast perform with a passionate fury that resembles the lost era. Drummer Kelly Murphy comments," I think the best way we can describe Reach is, we finally figured out how to incorporate the brutality and the beauty all in one project. Temperedcast features Calvin Muma on vocals, Kris Tonnessen on guitar, Nick Sundesten on bass, and Kelly Murphy on drums.

TEMPEREDCAST will be invading Worcester on November 15th at the Worcester Palladium opening for Puddle of Mudd. Also on the bill are Red. Tickets are $25 and available at the door and at www.tickets.com and all Strawberry Locations.

HINDER TAKE IT TO THE LIMIT TOUR SET TO INVADE WORCESTER PALLADIUM NOV 14

Every once in awhile, a band emerges onto the music scene that makes you stand up and listen. HINDER, who hail from Oklahoma, burst onto the music charts with their Number One mega hit,” Lips of An Angel" in 2006.

The huge 80's arena sound that surrounds the band got them an opening slot with the legendary Boston rock band Aerosmith. The distinctive vocals of Austin Winkler launched the band into high gear, as their Number One hit,” Lips of An Angel" blasted on every mainstream FM radio station across the country. It wouldn't be long before the Mid-West rockers would soon become a household name.

On November 4th, coincidently Election Day, Hinder released their latest album,” Take It To The Limit" on Universal/Republic. Their latest video and single "Use Me" has just been filmed, and the single has hit the airwaves with a vengeance. Motley Crue bassist Mick Mars makes a guest-star appearance with his shredding guitar solo on the title track,” Take It To The Limit". Singer Austin Winkler comments on the title track," I love the title track, actually, “Take It to the Limit.” Yes. The one that Mick Mars did with us. That’s one of my faves for sure."

CATCHING UP WITH FORMER CLASH DRUMMER TOPPER HEADON

Here's a recent interview with former Clash drummer Nicky "Topper" Headon passed onto the Wormtown.org offices by Performers guitarist Doug Geer. Enjoy!

What are your memories of taking over the role of Clash drummer from Terry
Chimes in 1977?

When I went for the audition I was really blown away by the power and the
look of the band but I wasn't that impressed with the musicianship. I
thought I'd hang about for a year and make my name and then maybe move on.
By the time we were recording "London Calling," I was loving the music. We
kept the punk ideals but we were playing jazz and soul and funk. I think the
band would have died with punk if I hadn't joined. With Terry Chimes on the
drums they wouldn't have been able to evolve into anything more musical."

Mick Jones: sensitive bloke or diva?

He was a f*cking nightmare. He was a total rock diva. I'm still good friends
with Mick today. He'd be the first to admit that he was impossible to get on
with on the road.

There's been some rumours that Mick played some of Paul Simonon's basslines
on Clash records.

On a hell of a lot, yeah. Mick taught him how to play the bass and that's
all he did. He didn't improvise. But once he'd been taught a bass line, he
just stuck to it. Onstage, he was fantastic to play with because I always
knew where he was gonna be. I could just embellish stuff and go wherever I
wanted.

Over the past couple of years, Boston has been a new breeding ground for up and coming metal acts to burst onto the National music scene. One band that has been stirring up quite the musical buzz in The Hub lately is Till We Die. The Boston rockers have a sound that resembles Tool meets Staind and Godsmack.

Till We Die formed in 2004, and has just released their debut album,” Pressing On", on "Screaming Ferret Wreckords/Locomtive Records. "Pressing On' has great melodic guitar riffs wrapped around the sometimes hardcore yet vocals of Mitty. The band features Joe Demarco on guitar, Dave Stewart on drums, Mike Laroche on bass, and Mitty on vocals.

TILL WE DIE is known for their energetic live show, and manages to capture some excitement of their live performance on their new CD. For more info visit www.woodstockfair.com

I recently had the opportunity to discuss in depth the new album from Quiet Riot entitled,"Rehab" with Quiet Riot drummer Frankie Banali. – Deborah, Wormtown.org correspondent.

When I think of one of the most influential drummers of the 80's, Quiet Riot drummer Frankie Banali is at the top of the list. Banali has a signature sound that was instrumental in launching Quiet Riot into 80's metal stardom. Today Banali is still keeping the dream of Quiet Riot alive with dedication to his craft, the release of Quiet Riot's latest album, “Rehab” on Chavis Records.

Over the years Quiet Riot has had some major line-up changes. These days, the band consists of lead singer Kevin Dubrow, Frankie Banali on drums, Chuck Wright on bass, and Alex Grossi on guitar.
I recently had the opportunity to discuss the making of "Rehab" with Banali, how the music industry has changed since the 80's, the upcoming Quiet Riot "Rehab" Tour, and how Quiet Riot has kept their metal dream alive for over two decades.

DEBORAH TALKS TO CHARLIE FARREN ABOUT THE FARRENHEIT REUNION AND BRAD DELP TRIBUTE

On August 19, at the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston, there will be a very special tribute concert for Boston front man Brad Delp. I recently discussed the upcoming benefit with Charlie Farren, former lead singer of the Joe Perry Project. Charlie will be performing with his band Farrenheit.

Tribute To The Life of Brad Delp at Bank of America Pavilion will feature performances by Farrenheit, RTZ, Orion The Hunter, Godsmack, Beatlejuice, Ernie & The Automatics and a special performance by Boston with special guests Michael Sweet, Mickey Thomas, Sammy Hagar and more.

Farrenheit drummer Muzz was also in a band with Delp called Beatlejuice. Farrenheit had the opportunity to tour with Boston in support of their debut album with Warner Brothers, "Farrenheit." Farren emerged onto the national scene in the early '80s after teaming up with Aerosmith lead guitarist Joe Perry and releasing an acclaimed album on CBS. As lead singer/guitarist with the Joe Perry Project, Farren helped to ignite theaters and arenas around the country on the strength of the Farren-penned classics like “Listen To The Rock” and “East Coast, West Coast.” Charlie and Joe teamed up to co-write four other songs for the album, including the title cut, “I've Got The Rock And Rolls Again.”

In 1986, Farren, along with Dave Hull (Joe Perry Project) and John "Muzz" Muzzy, formed Farrenheit and released a self titled debut album on Warner Brothers. Three singles from that album – “Fool in Love,” “Bad Habit” and “Lost in Loveland,” as well as video exposure on MTV and extensive touring, established the group as one of the country’s premier new rock acts, winning fans with their potent combination of well-written songs delivered by a powerful, veteran rock trio.

“We signed with Warner Brothers on the strength of our songwriting and performance,” explains Farren. “Farrenheit really never fit with the big hair and tattoo crowd that emerged shortly after the debut “Farrenheit” CD came out in 1987. It probably why that CD still sounds fresh, and why the songs still work.”

Farren has also appeared as a guest artist on recordings by Bad Company, Boston, Peter Wolf, Arthur Baker and Nona Hendrix and has performed the national anthem for the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox and other professional soccer, hockey and basketball games.

Former Joe Perry Project frontman Charlie Farren discussed the upcoming Brad Delp Tribute and Farrenheit reunion show with Wormtown.org’s Deborah.
